Some times when we are doing our hair and things aren't going our way we add product but not just product, PRRRRROOOOOOODDDDUUUUUCCCCCTTTTTTTTT! We go from a drop, to a dime size, to a quarter size, to the WHOLE DOLLAR! This is a problem because then you are left with tons of product that weighs down your hair. The product goes from something that enhances your style to something that makes your hair look limp and lifeless. How do we solve this? Use less product!
Of course your thinking, "Duh, this is a waste of time." however, stylist and clients alike often use too much product when styling hair. The products that get over used the most are leave-in creams, oil, and gel! If you haven't ever over used these products good for you, but, I don't think anyone can really say they haven't gone a little over board.
The rule of thumb when dealing with products is poor a dime size into your hand and rub your hands together, then work the product throughout the hair, if you need extra product repeat this step and build the product rather than adding too much product that you can not get rid of. You should not have to repeat the process more than three times!
Using less products goes far with not only your real hair but with wigs and weaves as well! We always hear people say my virgin remy hair lasted 1 year or more, well most likely they are not applying very much product to the hair. The more product you apply the more damage you may be doing to your hair, on your head or on the shelf.
So remember less is more and before applying product on the outside healthy hair, skin, and nails start with what your putting on the inside!
